Auditions

Choral Ensembles Audition

Students interested in participating in Rhodes choral ensembles, including: Singers (Concert Choir), Women′s Chorus, Chamber Singers and MasterSingers (Oratorio Choir) must take part in an audition. The audition is more to determine ensemble placement than acceptance. You may bring a prepared piece to the audition, or a piece of music will be provided for you (My Country Tis of Thee; Amazing Grace, and the like).  An accompanist will be provided. The audition will consist of that piece followed by sight-reading (various levels of difficulty, depending upon the choir) and vocalization.  The audition should last approximately ten minutes.  Sign up for auditions outside Room 206 in Hassell Hall. The audition will take place at the same location. Sign-up sheets will be available August 2015. Contact Dr. William Skoog:  skoogw@rhodes.edu.

Orchestral Ensembles Audition

Students interested in participating in Rhodes College Wind Ensemble or Rhodes College Orchestra must complete a placement audition. Auditions will be held in the first week of every semester, and will take approximately ten minutes. Students from every major are invited to audition.
Musicians should prepare one piece of any length that will show their strengths as a performer, and will be asked to sight-read a short section of work from the upcoming concert season.
